What can i say?

Well things have been going i guess.... I was up alot on bodog but have since then given it all back by running poorly and just not hitting hands/draws....

I have since become interested in learning Limit Poker and how to play that better.. Seems like a harder game to figure out.. I have also since signed up with Absolute Poker due to their great rewards program... I would say that it is probably only second to RiverStars... ooops i mean PokerStars.. lol

Well all and all i have been playing the best that i can given the resources.... lots of folding lots of prayers but still no answers....

I have been playing the absolute microlimits until i can break this cold spell then i will move my way up to where i need to be...

Also i am changing most of my accounts to get in deals with sites that offer RAKEBACK.... This is absolutely essential for anyone that is looking to play in the long run..... you really dont realize how much you give away in rake until you use this service..

Been running much more solidly at the tables.. It seems the more positive i think the better i play.... hmmmm sounds like an epiphany...

Well i am up bunch on Bodog (knock on wood) and i am starting to make myself a nice little bank roll..

Sportsbook i have been concentrating on Double or nothing tournaments as i dont seem to run very well at cash games for some reason... Its comforting to know i am better then 50% of my competitors at a 10 man table... LOL

Well i am done for the night... up about 10% on bankroll tonight..

ok....... Running good then bad again

So been running good on bodog..... Sportsbook... no comment....

The session i put in on Sunday was a crazy one..... lost the buyins in the morning and by the evening was up 2 buyins..... Bodog is proving to be a site where atleast my hands can hold up...

Sportsbook.... just seconds ago my KK lost to QQ all in preflop when the queen hit the river... i am guessing that is pretty standard.... So i think i am going to just focus on where i am making the money which is bodog....

Screw Pokerstars and Sportsbook for now i am tired of putting my money in ahead and having these idiots walk off with my money

Sportsbook - down 4% from starting broll... ( was actually up a little bit)

Bodog - Up alot.... I didnt start out with much so its been fun growing my broll again....

Ooops spoke too soon.... KK just lost to 44 haha this is starting to be funny.. kk loses to a weaker hand twice all in with in 10 minutes of one another... the second time was my fault i should have sniffed that one out. I think i am just going to go all in everytime with anything above qq from now on...

Long Session today

Was running ok and hitting some hands and managed to bring a profit down the past couple nights..... Last night was up good pretty fast then got my money in preflop against short stack

AK vs JJ

ace hit but so did the jack.... pretty standard for a short stack to play a hand that way.....

Since that things havent been too well.... this morning my J9 hit two pair on flop.... me SB vs BB both limp... I hit my two pair so i am raising and re-raising him all the way through.. flips over Q10 after all in and rivers the King for the straight... So i am down a buy in already this morning but have a long day ahead of me...

I plan on trying to double my broll today on Bodog.... which would be 4 buyins.... well now 5 lol.....

Ok havent written in about a week or so and guess what..... Not much to say....
I really wish this curse would be lifted off of me so that i may start to feel i can play offensively rather then constantly waiting for the suck out to happen...


I have been playing 3 of my accounts...

Bodog - which as always has been good to me....

PokerStars - which i have now nicknamed JokerStars or Poker"you will be sucked out on"stars

Sportsbook - .......

Bodog - I feel like i am playing about a B+ game because i am usually on the defensive waiting for the other people to suck out and it has happened a handful of times but typically i probably am behind to begin with i suppose.

Pokerstars - I think that little adventure is over.... i cashed out and left a few buyins of profit in there.... i have had enough

A9 spades 1 raiser i call....

5s 9d Ac he bets out so i put him on AK AQ AJ... i reraise him he calls...
Turn
you guessed it Js i bet out he raises confirming the suckout however i still have outs with the flush draw so i call... river of course a blank... sad thing is he checks to me like i dont know what he has lol....

This morning within 5 minutes of one another....( i even changed tables)

QQ i raise 2 callers...

5 6 8 rainbow.... i bet pot.. 2 callers

6..... one guy min bets... i reraise pot 1 guy folds other calls...

9 on river which gives runner runner diamond but i dont put him on that... i actually had him on an 8... he bets $5 into a pot of about 22... I call thinking i am behind with the crazy board.... he turns over 5 7 hrts.... call pot sized bets with a pair of 5s and an open ender like its PLO

Different table....

33 1 raiser i call.....

K 9 3 all spades.... he bets out first to act so i re-raise he calls....

7d..... i bet pot he calls...

4s OH YEAH...... of course i cant hit a full house and it has to deal that last spade.... he bets $3 into the pot..... so i call just to see how badly i was sucked out on....

QQ with the spade..... so an under pair with one spade and he called all the way through and got paid off.... After that hand i tore out everything and i dont know what i am going to do....

Maybe its me playing badly when i know i should just fold and get away but sometimes you really want to see what exactly the other person is thinking as he chases his beat hand all the way through... In the old days (1 year and a half ago) i made money off these idiots because i hardly was sucked out on and i always got my money in good....

I know that i need to work on my tilt control but it is hard to deal with that everytime you turn on the computer you wonder in the back of your mind ok i am playing my A game today how much will i lose... You study you work hard on developing strategy to be a winner and the game constantly takes a dump on you and all the toilet paper is gone.... This has been going on all year so i doubt variance can last this long....

80% ahead when running bad = you've already lost

Ok so i have decided to begin this blogging journey to help vent my thoughts and maybe i can get some feedback to use to better myself along the way...

First off about me i am a 26 year old Financial Advisor that would love to escape the 9-5 and have freedom through a professional online and live poker player. I have had a nice bankroll before and managed to spend it and lose whatever wasnt spent so now i am focused on building a new one and treating it like an investment. The highest stakes i have ever played was 5/10 and that is where i made the most of my money but the swings and the stress was killing me. So i cashed out and started over.

I have been playing poker for 2 years and would consider myself an above average player that with a little coaching could be an elite player.

Now my week thus far:

I am focusing on Pokerstars for the sake of narrowing things down to a select site.

You will find that i mainly focus on .50/1.00 and 1.00/2.00 tables where i feel the swings arent as bad and they are manageable. Until my bankroll is comfortable enough for the higher stakes i play these tables with a mix of $25 and $50 max PLO tables.

The Bad Beats

Ok so i know this is poker and that bad beats are going to happen especially online where you are seeing a million more hands then you do live but come on!!!

1)OK under the gun at $50 max i got myself KK..... YAY

Now i decide to limp this due to a full table and i will be re-raising anyone who wants to venture into this hand...

Middle position raises 4X b.b. so i am thinking maybe a small pair or an AQ AJ type scenario we will make him pay to draw an ace.

Folds around to the dealer who pushes all in randomly into about a $3 pot. I immediately think AA???? Hmm after consideration in come up with something along the lines of QQ or AK so i call and obviously the initial raiser folds...

4 A 10 rainbow on the flop.... Initial reaction is i am upset i was beat by AK as you know Pokerstars doesnt show the hole cards. Turn is a J and river is a 2.. Guy turns over KQd and a barrage on insults telling me how much better then me he is hitting his miracle broadway straight. 80% or better preflop even 80% on the flop to win and i get crushed by a complete idiot.

2) Quad aces vs my 6's full.... Not really a bad beat but something told me he had that hand

3) My QQ vs AKd vs AJh.... Rag flop the AJh was all in preflop and then the AKd goes all in after flop so i call and he rivers the King...

4) 5/21... Not playing for even 5 MINUTES on Pokerstars my KK vs AA... The sick thing is i just go all in and walk away from the computer knowing what is happening. SOmetimes it is hard to tell the donkeys going all in with AK or someone who actually has the aces...

5) 5/2... And this morning a small session of PLO which went ok and then the computer was shut off after my set of 2's was beat by a set of 4's on the flop...

Soooo... that being said my Bankroll on Pstars is down about 8% because of the KK vs AA situation yesterday amidst some other small suck outs.... I wouldnt say i am a perfect player but i tend to get my money in when i have the best of it... I may try again today after work... it is friday and alot of people play drunk... tough to tell which stakes i should play... Bankroll mgmt says i should be at $50 max or below but it is so tough to get a nice profit down there... Might hit up some 1/2 later...
